Mike Hardy

Professor Mike Hardy CMG OBE FRSA is Professor of Intercultural Relations and a founding Director of the Centre for Trust, Peace, and Social Relations at Coventry University.

He is Board Chair of the International Leadership Association www.ila-net.org, and recently appointed Chair of the Trustees of The UK Faith and Belief Forum www.fbf.org. He is an adjunct Professor of Leadership at the Communications and Business Institute, LSPR Indonesia. https://www.lspr.edu/. And a visiting scholar at the International Leadership Center, Jackson School of Global Affairs at Yale University, USA.

Twice honoured in the UK (OBE in 2001 for his peace-supporting work in the Middle East, and appointed a CMG: Companion of Honour of St Michael and St George, 2010 for his work internationally in Intercultural Dialogue.) In 2002, he was honoured by the Palestinian Welfare Association for work with NGOs in Gaza and WB, and more recently, became the first non-Indonesian awarded a Doctorate by orasi Ilmiah by Muhammadyah Indonesia. Mike is a member of the International Advisory Group for ICESCO, The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization www.icesco.org  a specialised organisation that operates under the aegis of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)

Mike’s current work centres on new and better leadership practices at all levels, which can make sense of our fragmenting global context and help make the positive changes that are needed. His new book, forthcoming in 2024, based on extended conversations with global influencers: Caring about Consequences: leadership, love, loyalty and loss focuses on the evolution of adaptive and social leadership in times of crisis and its importance for peaceful relations and more purposeful organisations in our fast-paced and turbulent world.
